DESCRIPTION:Join Audubon naturalists for a morning bird tour at the Greenwich Audubon Center! The center’s open fields\, apple orchard\, wetlands\, and woodlands provide great habitat for migrating birds such as warblers\, vireos\, tanagers\, thrushes\, orioles and more. We will also stop at our Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch in hopes of seeing migrating hawks\, eagles\, falcons\, and vultures overhead. Binoculars will be available for those who don’t have them. Meet in the Audubon Center in Greenwich parking Lot. \nThe program is FREE but participants must register in advance through our online ticket sales page with additional contributions optional. Please select the date from the registration page of the program you wish to attend. There will be no ticket sales at the door the day of the program. DESCRIPTION:Join Jerry and Co. for a Fall Migration Bird Walk at Hammonasset Beach State Park here in Madison. Migrating hawks\, eagles\, owls\, shorebirds\, waterbirds\, and songbirds can all be seen at one of Connecticut’s premier birding “hot spots”. \nBirds migrating south are sometimes pushed by westerly winds towards the shore\, so they hug the coastline. Birds of prey (hawks\, falcons and eagles) can often be spotted soaring overhead or hunting along their routes. Several songbirds exchange bright spring feathers for more drab non-breeding colors\, and Jerry will help you identify these sometimes confusing differences. Shorebirds\, which have started their southerly migration after finishing nesting in August\, can often be seen in the various wet areas. \nImprove your ear as we listen for birds before we see them. Get to know which birds are likely streaming through and why. Learn about habitats in this exceptional state park. \nAlways a surprise and always entertaining\, birding on the shore of CT is one of the highlights of fall. DESCRIPTION:Fall Migration at Rosedale Farms\n\n\n25 East Weatogue Street\, Simsbury — Park at the farm stand parking lot and walk down\, or park further in the grassy area on the left of the dirt road. Meet at the kiosk at the end of the dirt road. \nRosedale Farms and Vineyards is a historic family farm that is not only known for its locally grown fresh produce and wine but also offers a variety of habitats that makes it a great birding location during Fall migration. A combination of agricultural land and fields\, woodlands\, two ponds\, a stream and frontage on the Farmington River bring in a nice variety of migrating sparrows\, warblers\, songbirds and raptors. The walk will last approximately 2 hours\, and the terrain is easy and flat. We are hoping to find some late warblers\, up to seven sparrow species and other migrating birds. SUMMARY:Hartford Audubon: Raymond Brook Preserve Bird Walk
DESCRIPTION:Raymond Brook Preserve\, Hebron –  \n\n\nFor best driving directions\, please search Raymond Brook Preserve on GPS (tested using Google Maps). It may still list 168 Church Street as the address\, but manually\ninputting just 168 Church Street will navigate you to a random location on the wrong side of the road. Look for a small brown Trail Parking sign\, and the big green Raymond Brook Preserve sign \nJoin us in Hebron at this hidden gem hotspot! Trails are mostly flat\, wide\, gravel paths (i.e.\, easy walking!) through woods/overgrown farm fields\, open grass fields\, and small pond habitat. Loop is about\ntwo miles and will probably last around 2 hours. May be a little muddy if recent rain\, but usually not too bad. We will also be able to tour the recently established pollinator garden\, funded by a 2023 HAS grant. \nThere are no restroom facilities at the preserve\, so please plan accordingly. DESCRIPTION:Join Jerry and Co. for a Fall Migration Bird Walk at Hammonasset Beach State Park here in Madison. Migrating hawks\, eagles\, owls\, shorebirds\, waterbirds\, and songbirds can all be seen at one of Connecticut’s premier birding “hot spots”. \nBirds migrating south are sometimes pushed by westerly winds towards the shore\, so they hug the coastline. Birds of prey (hawks\, falcons and eagles) can often be spotted soaring overhead or hunting along their routes. Several songbirds exchange bright spring feathers for more drab non-breeding colors\, and Jerry will help you identify these sometimes confusing differences. Shorebirds\, which have started their southerly migration after finishing nesting in August\, can often be seen in the various wet areas. \nImprove your ear as we listen for birds before we see them. Get to know which birds are likely streaming through and why. Learn about habitats in this exceptional state park. \nAlways a surprise and always entertaining\, birding on the shore of CT is one of the highlights of fall. Get outdoors and enjoy a Saturday morning in the fresh air on one of our Fall Migration Bird Walks at Hammonasset! \n\nWalks at Hammonasset will be held each Saturday Sept. 12 through Nov. 21\, 2026\nParticipants will meet Jerry at The Audubon Shop parking lot at 7:50 am\, carpool to the park at 8 and return at about 10:30.\n$6.00 cash charge per person – pay when you arrive\, please.\nBeginners are welcome.\nNo need to pre-register.\nEach guided walk takes place from 8-10:30 am.\nBinoculars are necessary and may be rented for $4\, please call to rent.\nTelescopes and cameras are welcome.\nDress for the weather.
