Fresh Meadows Preserve\, Cheshire – Corrie Folsom-O’Keefe \nFresh Meadows Preserve\, Cheshire F483+WH\, Cheshire\, CT \nGroup 1: 8–9:30 a.m.; Group 2: 9:30–11 a.m. \n\nMigrating birds looking for a place to rest and refuel on their southbound journeys are attracted to the variety of habitats within Cheshire Land Trust’s Fresh Meadows Preserve. With conifer groves\, deciduous woodlands\, and meadows\, all located along the Mill River\, it’s worth a visit. Expect a 1-2 mile walk on mostly level ground. Muck boots or other waterproof boots and footwear are strongly advised\, especially if there has been recent rain. We will have two groups of 10 people each. \nREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! DESCRIPTION:Join Audubon naturalists for a morning bird tour at the Greenwich Audubon Center! The center’s open fields\, apple orchard\, wetlands\, and woodlands provide great habitat for migrating birds such as warblers\, vireos\, tanagers\, thrushes\, orioles and more. We will also stop at our Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch in hopes of seeing migrating hawks\, eagles\, falcons\, and vultures overhead. Binoculars will be available for those who don’t have them. Meet in the Audubon Center in Greenwich parking Lot. \nThe program is FREE but participants must register in advance through our online ticket sales page with additional contributions optional. DESCRIPTION:Paul Carrier Hawk Watch \n\nWe had some good days of hawk watching and have decided to hold another watch tomorrow\, Monday\, September 21.  Watch begins at 9:00am and will end at 2:00pm\,\n\n\nRt 20\, West Hartland. From Granby center follow Rt 20 west for \n14.8 miles. DESCRIPTION:Station 43 Beginners Bird Walk #1\n\n\n953 Main St\, South Windsor — Corner of Newberry Rd and Main St\nPark along road near intersection. \nThe first of four morning walks designed for beginners at Hartford Audubon’s oldest sanctuary. Station 43 is an excellent birding area year-round and on each walk we will look for seasonal birds. The walk is roughly 2.5 miles (3 hours) long over flat terrain but we may encounter muddy areas and water covering parts of the path.
