SUMMARY:CT Audubon RTP Estuary Center - Planting For Birds - Winter Season: November 21\, 2026
DESCRIPTION:Planting for Birds – Winter Season:\n\n\n\nSaturday\, November 21\, 2026\n10:00am – 12:00pm\nRTP Estuary Center\n100 Lyme Street\nOld Lyme\, CT\, 06371\n860-598-4218\nrtpec@ctaudubon.org\nMembers: $20\nNon-members: $25\n\n\n\nWhile habitat loss poses challenges for birds and wildlife worldwide\, creating backyard habitats offers a solution! In this four-part series\, participants will learn about ways to improve backyard habitats throughout different seasons. Each program will focus on the seasonal needs of birds and specific ways to support them\, using examples from the sanctuary grounds of the RTP Estuary Center in Old Lyme. Each session will include an indoor presentation and an outdoor exploration of the sanctuary grounds and gardens\, accompanied by handouts that list the plants mentioned for each session. \nWinter can be a challenging time for birds\, with limited food and water resources combined with cold and stormy conditions. A well-planned backyard can be a lifesaver for wintering birds. Learn which plants will provide food and protection during the colder\, resource-scarce months. \nPlanting for Birds – Winter Session | Nov 21\, 10:00am – 12:00pm | RTP Estuary Center | The Connecticut Audubon Society
