Join Allison Middlemass\, Coordinator of Community Conservation Programs\, for a guided Fall migration birding hike where we will use binoculars to get a good view of birds\, see the various habitats that our birds depend on\, and discuss the ways scientists are tracking birds to help protect them. Binoculars will be provided for folks without their own to borrow for the duration of the hike. SUMMARY:Greenwich Audubon: Fall Migration Bird Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join Audubon naturalists for a morning bird tour at the Greenwich Audubon Center! The center’s open fields\, apple orchard\, wetlands\, and woodlands provide great habitat for migrating birds such as warblers\, vireos\, tanagers\, thrushes\, orioles and more. We will also stop at our Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch in hopes of seeing migrating hawks\, eagles\, falcons\, and vultures overhead. Binoculars will be available for those who don’t have them. Meet in the Audubon Center in Greenwich parking Lot. \nThe program is FREE but participants must register in advance through our online ticket sales page with additional contributions optional. Please select the date from the registration page of the program you wish to attend. There will be no ticket sales at the door the day of the program. Please be prepared to show proof of your ticket registration\, either as a printed copy of your registration receipt or your registration confirmation email on your phone. \nProgram Fee: Admission is FREE but donations are encouraged. Your contributions help support our conservation work\, including advocating for the protection of birds and the habitats they depend on for survival. \nRSVP is Required \nRecommended for ages 6 and up. \nPlease register for the quantity of ALL members in your party. SUMMARY:Bruce Museum/ Greenwich Audubon: Birding at the Bruce
DESCRIPTION:Join the Bruce Museum and Greenwich Audubon for a tour of the neighboring Oneida Sanctuary. Tours will meet at the Visitor Services Desk in the museum lobby and walk from the Bruce Park Playground to Audubon’s neighboring Oneida Sanctuary. The Oneida Sanctuary is located in one of Greenwich’s only remaining coastal salt marshes. The walk covers unpaved and uneven ground and is approximately one mile from start to finish. Oneida Sanctuary not only provides an opportunity to see bird species that use this special habitat such as waterfowl\, shorebirds\, herons & egrets\, but also to learn about Audubon’s conservation efforts to improve our coastal resiliency in Greenwich. \nPlease RSVP as space is limited. Birding at Bruce is a free program; admission to the Bruce Museum is not required. If you would like to visit the Bruce Museum galleries before or after Birding at Bruce\, admission is required. \n

DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY AUGUST 29th 2026. 10 A.M. – 12 P.M.\n \n\n\n\n\nDid you know that an average of 20\,000 hawks\, eagles\, falcons\, and vultures migrate over our Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch every fall? Join Audubon naturalist Ryan MacLean as we kick off another hawk watching season and learn how to identify and count the raptors seen over the Greenwich Audubon Center. Following a slide show introduction where you will learn of the importance of hawk watches and how to distinguish the different shapes of hawks in flight\, we’ll use binoculars to look for migrating raptors from Hawk Watch Lawn.\n \nThe Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch will be staffed by official hawk counters every day (weather dependent) from August 25th through November 30th 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. All are welcome to come assist in counting efforts and enjoy the magic of fall hawk migration!\n \nThis IN-PERSON program has a limited capacity and will start with an indoor slide show.\n \nTickets MUST be purchased in advance through this online ticket sales page.
