Where:  The Barn, Audubon Bent of the River Sanctuary, 185 East Flat Hill Road, Southbury, 06488.  To park, drive up to the barn, not in the visitors’ parking area.
Title:  Hawk Migration
Who: Larry Fischer is a state and federally licensed bird bander with emphasis on birds of prey.  He has lectured on hawks and owls at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC, is a past president of the Western CT Bird Club, current Board member of the NorthEast Hawk Watch since 1980.  Larry is also currently CT collaborator on Broad-winged Hawk research with Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association in Kempton, PA.
 
Every fall, thousands of hawks migrate through Connecticut on their way to the southern states, with some species going as far as South America.  Join Larry to learn where, when and how to watch for migrating hawks.  He will also discuss and point out some helpful identification tips.
