Join Kevin O’Brien, Reserve Manager of the Connecticut National Estuarine Research Reserve (CT NERR), for an engaging look at Connecticut’s newest hub for coastal research, education, and stewardship. Designated in 2022, the Reserve spans over 52,000 acres of diverse habitats along Long Island Sound and the Thames and Connecticut Rivers. Kevin will discuss the Reserve’s mission to support a resilient and healthy estuary, the collaborative process behind its creation, and ongoing efforts to address challenges like habitat sustainability, climate change, and water quality. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in birds, conservation, or coastal ecosystems to learn more about this important work.
