The 126th Annual National Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count

The Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is an annual, citizen-science bird census organized by the National Audubon Society. It takes place between December 14 and January 5. Volunteers count all the birds they can find and hear within a specific 15-mile diameter circle on one day, with the data used to monitor bird populations, understand their health, and guide conservation efforts. With origins dating back to 1900, it is the longest-running citizen science survey in the world. CBCs are open to birders of all ages and skill levels.
