Hartford Audubon – A.W. Stanley Park – Field Trip: October 18, 2026
A.W. Stanley Park, New Britain
2159 Stanley St, New Britain
Park in the lot across from the pool building.
(Note this is NOT Stanley Quarter Park, also in New Britain)
A.W. Stanley Park is a New Britain gem, hosting a diverse community
of resident and migratory birds, with foraging mixed-species flocks
assembling in October. We will take an approximately 2 mile route,
walking on paved and unpaved trails through forested and open areas
around the pond, including a small hill and a cliff overlook, and marsh
and stream viewing areas. With luck, the maples will be putting on a
colorful display. Dress appropriately for the weather. We will
probably spend a couple of hours in the park, with many stops. The
trip will be cancelled or rescheduled if it’s raining; call to ask if the
weather seems borderline.
