Hartford Audubon Society: Ct Trails Day – Family Birdwalk
CT Trails Day Family Birdwalk, Canton – Jun 7 – Sun 7:30 am
Meet at Canton Sun, Wind & Woodlands Preserve
Use 184 Breezy Hill Rd, Canton in Google or Apple Maps.
Driveway and sign will be on left. Do not take
lower Breezy Hill from Rt. 44, it is a very rough dirt road.
Join HAS leader and science teacher Sarah Faulkner for a 1 1/2
hour beginner’s birdwalk for families in this beautiful Canton Land
Conservation Trust preserve. You’ll be introduced to birdwatching,
learn to find and identify birds, and learn about apps on your phone
that can help. Children ages 6 to 17 are welcome. We’ll look for
birds, discuss the ecosystems, and enjoy being in nature. Easy
walking, less than 1 mile. Bring binoculars, smart phone if
possible, sturdy sneakers, insect repellent, water and snack. Leader
will have some binoculars to loan to participants.
